Owner of Henrik von Eckermann's Dzara Dorchival withdraws mare from the sport

Henrik von Eckermann's Dzara Dorchival (Qlassic Bois Margot) is being withdrawn from the sport. Owner Sebastian Fonck has decided to bring the eleven-year-old mare back home for a 'vacation,' the duration of which is not yet clear.

"With mixed feelings, we announce that our fantastic Dzara is withdrawing from competition for 2024."

"It has been a wonderful experience to share these emotions, thanks to the victories of this extraordinary mare. These moments have been the most intense of my life as a breeder. Under the saddle of her fantastic rider, Henrik von Eckermann, she has repeatedly made us cheer and cry with joy. She was cherished and loved by the entire team at Cyor Stables, and it was an enormous relief to know that she was in such good hands."

"However, the well-being of my mare always comes first. A chronic cough resulting from an infection she contracted in 2022 makes a return to competition currently impossible. In consultation with Henrik, we have therefore decided that she will return home, to her birthplace, for an extended vacation."

"Exactly one year ago, we were at the GCT in Stockholm, where we left with two victories and a second place. The year 2023 was particularly successful for Dzara, in which she was crowned the best SF mare in the world according to the WBFSH ranking. She also contributed to the number one position of the SF studbook and to Henrik's dominance at the top of the world."

"Although the adventure doesn't end here, nothing can take away the joy I have felt during the collaboration with this fantastic rider. The memories are numerous and wonderful."
