Rubin Royal OLD passed away

The Dressurpferde Leistungszentrum Lodbergen (DLZ) reports a bitter loss: Rubin Royal OLD died at the proud age of 27. The death of the dark bay stallion, who was always full of energy, also marks the end of an era in Lodbergen. Rubin Royal OLD was one of the founding stallions of his breeder Harli Seifert's stallion station, from which the DLZ emerged in 2008.

Rubin Royal OLD was always a brilliant sporting and breeding stallion. His performances at stallion shows were legendary, mostly as their brilliant finale, which breeders did not miss. His trademarks: ground-defying movement standard and boundless willingness to perform.

The Id premium stallion of the Oldenburg licensing in 1999 and Ia main premium winner in 2001 recorded Grand Prix victories and placings in Dortmund, Bremen, Münster, Bern/SUI, Aachen, Turin/ITA, Donaueschingen and Munich under Hendrik Lochthowe.

In 2015, Rubin Royal OLD made it into the top ten of the world's best dressage sires for the first time. In 2017 and 18 he even ranked third in the WBFSH ranking. He owed this to his numerous Grand Prix-successful offspring, starting with Real Dancer FRH/Jan-Dirk Gießelmann, Fohlenhof's Rock'n Rose/Dorothee Schneider and Rosalie B/Laura Tomlinson/GBR over the Hamburg Derby winner Rockefeller's Cinderella/Anabel Balkenhol to the Olympic reserve Rubin Al Asad/Lara Griffith/GBR. The Rubin Royals are also successful in the show jumping and cross, like the CICO* Aachen seventh RF Demeter under Hannah Sue Burnett/USA.

"Rubinchen", as Harli Seifert always called her declared favourite, was the first colt out of her Rumirell. The Grundstein II-Akzent II daughter was the great-granddaughter of Rudilore II, the famous Chronos daughter who galloped to the top of international eventing under the name Chica with Wolfgang Mengers. After the end of her sporting career, Harli Seifert used her Chica in breeding, where she became the foundation mare of one of the most powerful mare lines in Oldenburg. 30 licensed stallions came out of the Rudilore line, such as the show jumping stallions Gio Granno, Conterno Grande, Couleur Rubin and Couleur Rouge and the dressage stallions D-Day, Don Chico and Tantris, as well as numerous highly successful sport horses.

Five licensed full brothers to Rubin Royal OLD still come from the pairing of the El.St. Rumirell with Rohdiamant: the Team Vice European Champion Glock's Romanov/Hans-Peter Minderhoud/NED, Rumicello/Bianca Nowag who was successful up to Inter I, Rubino Vincento who placed in the Junior Tour, Rubin Action/Stella Charlotte Roth who was successful in Grand Prix and Blue Hors Rockefeller. The full sister St.Pr.St. Rumirella produced the also licensed De Royal (by De Niro).

"We are immensely sad to have lost this stallion, who gave us so much pleasure in his daily handling and whom we would have so gladly allowed many more 'pensioner years'," explained Wolfgang Stagge, Operations Manager of the DLZ. "Thank you, Rubin Royal - you were very, very special! And you will leave a big gap."
