After two years the 13-year-old stallion, Monte Bellini (by Montender) is making his comeback this week. Apparently the brand new 'Knokke Hippique' is the place to be for comebacks. Monte Bellini got injured just before the European Championships in Herning in 2013. Since then Philipp Weishaupt's top horse didn't compete at any competition. 'It has been about 2 years I competed Monte Bellini. After that injury we mainly worked on bringing back his condition. I will start slowely and see where we go from there. The idea is to focus on the indoor world cup season," states Weishaupt. The last international performance of the pair was July 2013 at the Grand Prix of the CSIO in Falsterbo. Weishaupt and Monte Bellini finished sixth during that GP. The same year they won the Nations Cup and Grand Prix of the CHIO in Rotterdam. For Germany this might mean the return of a valuable asset.
