Hans-Dieter Dreher conquers 1.60m Jumping Amsterdam Grand Prix

A total of eleven combinations qualified for the Jump-Off in the 1.60m CSI5* Grand Prix at Jumping Amsterdam. In the end it was Germany's Hans-Dieter Dreher who speeded to victory aboard his 11-year-old Elysium.

Germany's Hans-Dieter Dreher and the 11-year-old Elysium (VDL Zirocco Blue) managed to take the lead early on in the Jump-Off. The pair produced a clear round in 39.92 seconds. The winning pair of the day before, Daniel Deusser and the 12-year-old Bingo Ste Hermelle (Number One d'Iso), bested the time of Dreher, finishing in 38.94 seconds.

Taking the risks one rail fell down, not being able to dethrone Dreher. In front of the home crowd, Dutch jumping rider, Loewie Joppen followed at the start aboard Havel van de Wolfsakker Z (Hos d'O). The pair immediately jumped into the runner-up position, but was after referred to a fourth place as Maikel van der Vleuten bested their time aboard Dywis HH (Toulon), eventually placing third.

France's Kevin Staut followed on stage with the 10-year-old Dialou Blue PS (Diarado's Boy). In the end only the top five managed to produce a clear Jump-Off round, with a fifth place for Poland's Przemyslaw Konopacki and the 11-year-old KWPN-mare, Home-Run (Spartacus TN).
