Horse dies at the European Championships in Arezzo

The European Championships are over for Ashford Farm-rider, Pieter Clemens. The 20-year-old Belgian rider was one of the favorites for the medal. Nevertheless, yesterday Clemens had to withdraw for the two individual qualifiers and the first round of the Nations Cup. His horse, Anthony (by Tadmus) was brought to the nearest hospital for a colic surgery. Unfortunately Anthony's colic attack was so severe, the 9-year-old gelding died in the hospital. Our condolences to Pieter, the people close to Anthony and Ashford Farm.
