Last week Mendoza debuted with her new ride, Horst Van de Mispelaere at the international showjumping de Peelbergen. Great-Britain's Olympic reserve is the new rider of the 9-year-old Belgian Warmblood horse, Horst Van de Mispelaere (Wandor van de Mispelaere x Polydor). Mendoza takes over the reins of Swiss young rider, Morgane Dassio. Horst Van de Mispelaere was bred by Joris and Mia Vermeulen, Belgium. Before Morgane Dassio competed the stallion it was Belgium's Koen Vereecke who jumped the horse to a silver medal at the Belgian Championships for 7-year-old horses. Horst is the halfbrother of Bisquet Balou C and was earlier this year sold to Morgane Dassio. It is now Dassio's trainer, Mendoza who competed the stallion. In September Dassio and Horst won the junior Championships in Switzerland.
