Recently Italy welcomed a new professional rider. In the future the Belgian Rossella de Simone will ride under Italian colors. Equnews asked this show jumping lover why she changed the nationality, what the advantages are and what will change in the future. Why did you change your nationality? And Why Italian? I've always had a double nationality. My Father and Mother are from two different countries. One from Belgium, the other from Italy. But to be honest I made the change in a hope to have an easier access to starting places. If it will be that way, that is for the future to decide. When did you change? I all realized this being in Arezzo last spring. That is actually the moment I made the change. You made the change, so what are the consequences? Actually not much will change. I still have my stable in Belgium, also my residence is in this country. Only the colors I'll ride for will change. Well we are already happy you will stay in this close equestrian world.
