The Oldenburg Verband has announced the passing of auctioneer Uwe Heckmann. Heckmann passed away at the age of 73. He was known as the auctioneer for the Holsteiner Association, Oldenburg Association, the PSI auction, and the Trakehner auctions.
Heckmann was born in Verden in 1950 interested in horses starting a young age. At 29 years old, Heckmann was active as an auctioneer for the first time during the 11th Elite Auction.
He ensured a sold-out auction and achieved remarkable results with unprecedented prices. From that moment on, his career as an auctioneer was established.Outside of the auctions, there was also high demand for his knowledge and horse sense. It's therefore not surprising that Heckmann was involved in the licensing committees of the Association of Breeders of Oldenburg Horses (OL) and the Oldenburg-International (OS) Jumping Horse Breeding Association. As a trainer, he spent years training and promoting numerous riders, breeders, and experts in the horse industry in a significant manner.
