Earlier this week it was announced that Jamie Kermond tested positive for the use of cocaine. The rider was suspended from the Olympics which had major consequences for the Australian team. As their reserve rider had also indicated that he would not be travelling to Tokyo, only two riders remained: Edwina Tops Alexander and Katie Laurie.
Now Tops-Alexander announces on her social media that a solution was found for them after all: they can participate in the competition as individual candidates.
