The Swedish show jumper, Jens Fredricson, already won a team medal with Markan Cosmopolit at the World Championships and European Championships. The son of Cohiba VDL recently sustained an injury in Mannheim... as a result, the Swede currently has to forego his possible Olympic participation! "He is back at work, but time is against us. That is why I have decided to give up on aiming for Olympic participation!"
"It is important that he makes a full recovery. I want to give him all the necessary time to heal." This is a setback for the Swedish team. Fredricson was one of the pillars who won a gold team medal in Herning in 2022 as well as at the European Championship in Milan. The duo also scored multiple times at the highest level individually.
"It is unfortunate, but a sporting ambition should never come at the expense of Cosmo's well-being," says the Swede. "We are making plans for the long term..."
