At the CHIO Aachen, the DOSB nominated the pairs for the start at the Olympic Games in Paris on the recommendation of the discipline committees of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR). The Showjumping team was already known but it was yet the reserve combination who had to be chosen in Otto Becker's team.
