At the age of 84, Patrick Blanckaert has passed away. As a passionate horseman, he elevated the well-known 'd’Auzay' suffix to the highest levels. Without grand resources, but with an iron willpower and a distinct personality, he achieved success after success. Both the mare Kysra d’Auzay and her daughter Via d’Auzay reached the world elite under the saddle of Hervé Godignon.
Blanckaert also left his mark on stallion breeding, particularly through Hysbra d’Auzay and Nouma d’Auzay - who passed away earlier this year after achieving major international victories under Franke Sloothaak. Most recently, Norkya d’Auzay (by Grandorado) was approved for breeding during the past stallion station season.
Furthermore, Vimae d’Auzay recently made waves under Pierre Marie Friant, while Bohysra d’Auzay (alias Enkidu) shone repeatedly at the world's most demanding competitions, including the iconic Grand Prix of Aachen.
Our sincere thoughts and condolences go out to his wife Laurence, his family, and all those close to him.
