Following our February EQUTALK podcast, we developed a proposal for the Global Breeder Bonus. Following the meeting between the FEI and the WBFSH, a first step has been taken towards greater recognition for the breeder.

The international federation (FEI) and the WBFSH (World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses) have taken a proposal regarding the recognition of the (sport) breeder into consideration. Both organizations agree that the breeder deserves a place within the equestrian ecosystem.
"The FEI and WBFSH recognize the fundamental importance of the breeder in our sport. The breeder plays a key role and contributes through their own investments, risks, and long-term commitment to the sport."
The breeder's premium is approached by both organizations as a broader strategic issue involving breeders, owners, athletes, and organizers.
For this reason, the FEI will organize a dedicated session at the FEI Sports Forum 2027, taking place on 26 and 27 April in Lausanne (SUI). Relevant stakeholder representatives will be invited, and participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback with the aim of developing satisfactory and feasible proposals.
