Partnered with Daniel Deusser, Tobago Z has been one of the most admired horses on the international showjumping circuit. His career highlights include team silver at the 2019 European Championships in Rotterdam, multiple victories in CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix and World Cup™ competitions, Rolex Grand Prix wins in Wellington and at The Dutch Masters, one of the four Majors of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping. He also claimed victory in the CSI5*-W Sires of the World in Mechelen, triumphed in the CSI5* 1.65m Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix at the Prague Playoffs, and finished runner-up in the CSI5* 1.65m Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen - highlighting only a fraction of the achievements accumulated throughout his career. Repeated appearances at the top of the FEI WBFSH Breeders Ranking and the title of Zangersheide Horse of the Year in the 2022-2023 Z-ranking confirm that heart, intelligence and quality matter more than size.

Tobago Z is sired by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve and was born and bred in Belgium by Jonas Bellemans, who also competed his dam, Whoopie C (Mr Blue), himself at 1.60m level. A sister to the 1.60m Grand Prix stallion Aga-Khan-C, Whoopie C has produced several international performers, such as Donatella C, who competed successfully at 1.60m Grand Prix level under Maggie McAlary, Paola Amilibia and Quentin Judge, alongside Beijing Z (1.50m), Eclipse Z (1.45m), and multiple younger horses currently progressing through the ranks.

Already established in breeding, Tobago Z has sired several approved stallions, while his first generations are making their presence felt at the highest levels of the sport. Among them are 1.60m performers Otello de Guldenboom, successfully campaigned by Daniel Deusser, and Trixie Z with Emilie Conter, alongside Toscane Z and Orak d'Hamwyck, both performing up to 1.55m level, underlining Tobago Z's growing influence in modern top sport breeding.

After a brilliant career at the highest level, Studfarm Zangersheide is now delighted to welcome Tobago Z, as he shifts focus from sport to breeding and will be available with fresh semen to our breeders for the 2026 season.

Breeding Conditions

Tobago Z will be available at a fee of €1,600. Breeders who inseminate their mare this year with the semen of this new acquisition will only be required to pay the full amount upon the birth of a living foal in 2027.

Anyone who would like to see Tobago Z and the other stallions of Studfarm Zangersheide live is warmly invited on Thursday, 26 February at Sentower Park in Oudsbergen. The presentation will start at 8:00 PM, and both entry and parking are free.
