All eyes on Madrid in Motion

There are only a few days left until the one of the most important equestrian events in the world, that will be held in the impressive O2 Arena of Prague. From the 21 st till the 24 th of November, the 16 teams of the Global Champions League will fight for the winning title, which currently is being held by last year´s winners, Madrid in Motion, who are sponsored by Massimo Dutti and Marqués de Riscal.

Maikel Van der Vleuten, Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, team manager Eric Van der Vleuten and ex-member Marc Houtzager, made history in 2018 by winning the first edition of the GCL Super Cup. During these three intense and thrilling days, the best riders and horses in the world pushed their limits and gived all that they can to attain the winner´s title.

This year Madrid in Motion has the confidence and desire to win due to last season’s success. Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, Maikel Van der Vleuten, Mark Mcauley and Eric Van der Vleuten have decided to be in the Czech capital with the intention of maintaining their leading position, with the potential of winning over 4,000,000€, an unusually high premium in the history of equestrian competitions.

It´s been a brilliant and successful season for Madrid in Motion, winning two victories, one in Cannes and the other in St. Tropez. They have also won second place in Rome and two third places in Madrid and Stockholm, where they have managed to be in the third place in the final ranking, accumulating more than 800,000€ for the team. With this result, the team will pass directly to the semi-finals on Friday, the 22 nd of November, that will save a day of competition and not to mention, stress, for the riders and for the horses.

Speaking of the horses, the team has disclosed which of their star horses they will bring. The list consists of: Rockfeller de Pleville, Bois Margot, Verdi, Vivaldi du Theil and Wunschkind 19, horses that have a lot of experience and already proved last year that the pressure does not sway their focus. The Irish rider Michael G Duffy and the Belgian rider Cindy Van der Straten are also a part of the team who have surprised and impressed us in the last year, and in the following days will have millions of eyes attentively watching each one of them.
