At The Dutch Masters there was no holding back Italy's Lorenzo De Luca in the CSI5* 1.45m Ranking class. Aboard his SF-mare, Dirka de Blondel (Very Berlin de Castel) the Italian jumper set the record time!
"I was the first to go in but trusted my mare for 100%. She is incredibly fast, but also luck was on our side... as a first one in, you need to make choices!" De Luca said. "Dirka won't be my choice for the Grand Prix on Sunday, but we will make the best of our days here...". The duo finished flawlessly in 58.25 seconds, staying less than one second ahead of Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli with the 11-year-old daughter of Syrius de Bavoz, Dyrka Du Carry. The Selle Français studbook occupied the entire top three.
Together with his SF stallion, Bingo Ste Hermelle (Number One d'Iso), Daniel Deusser jumped to third place. The duo thus pushed Maikel van der Vleuten with AES mare, Elwikke (Eldorado vd Zeshoek), into fourth place.
Marlon Modolo Zanotelli and Cornest (Balou du Reverton) completed the top five.
