Today, the German show jumper Marcus Ehning announced that his former top horse Sandro Boy has passed away at the age of 31. Ehning and the son of Sandro achieved several international victories together.
In 2007, the combination was part of the winning Nations Cup team in the final in Barcelona. In 2008, the duo won the Grand Prix of Frankfurt. Furthermore, there were rankings in the CSI5*-w Grand Prix of Bordeaux, the World Cup of 's Hertogenbosch, and in the CSI5* Grand Prix of Brussels, among others.
In 2011 the Oldenburger sire enjoyed his sportive retirement.
"Of the 31 years, we were able to spend 21 years together. Unfortunately, we had to let you go today. I will never forget you," says Ehning.
