Sentower Park just saw the denouement of a busy international weekend: the Grand Prix of the CSI3* competition. The 58 participating combinations were presented with a tough basic course: only four combinations managed to keep the clear in the basic round. A jump-off with four combinations therefore had to decide the winner. The saying ' the last will be first' already applied today. Harry Charles was the last one to compete in the jump-off and, riding Sherlock (by Bisquet Balou vd Mispelaere), he managed to beat the time of de Luca, who had been in the lead until then. Their time of 34.58 seconds thus earned them victory.
Second place went to Lorenzo de Luca. He rode F One USA (by Toulon) clear through the jump-off in 35.13 seconds. Only the top two were able to jump a double clear round. The fastest four-pointer came from Terza Vesela and Quimero M (by Guidam Sohn), allowing them to sit on the third podium step.
Lars Kuster and Idylle of Romance (by Andiamo) followed in fourth place. Fifth place went to Rik Hemeryck. Although he and Inoui du Seigneur (by Jenson van't Meulenhof) failed to clear a single bar in the first round, a time penalty kept them out of the jump-off. Their performance did earn them fifth place.
