Last weekend, the Irish show jumper, Trevor Breen, had a serious fall during the competition in Hamburg. The show jumper suffered fractures in his neck and back. Meanwhile, he has undergone surgery. Caroline Breen announced the news on her Socials.

"After his fall during the Grand Prix on Saturday, May 11th, Trevor has undergone one surgery to stabilise the most severe of the three fractures in his lower neck and back. The major fracture has been repaired, the spinal cord has been saved, he has no paralysis, and he’ll be able to walk and ride again at some point. He has another surgery ahead of him, but the prognosis is looking much more positive, although there is still a long road ahead." Caroline Breen says.
"We are also hugely grateful to Hamburg show organiser Volker Wulff and his medical team, led by a leading on-site consultant, which proved crucial. We also send a huge thanks to the hospital in Hamburg, which has been incredible; the top orthopaedic surgeon has seen Trevor in the hospital and has been excellent throughout the process."
