USA's show jumping rider, Kent Farrington is the current number six on the FEI Longines Ranking list. The show jumper was still in the running for the selection for the upcoming World Equestrian Games, organised in Tryon later this year. Farrington has now decided to whitdraw himself from the short list. After evaluating the form of his short-listed horse Gazelle, the 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare he owns with Robin Parsky, following his return to competition post injury this winter, Farrington believes it is in Gazelle’s and the team’s best interests not to purse WEG selection at this stage. A replacement will not be made to the short list in accordance to the U.S. Show Jumping selection procedures for the 2018 WEG. The following eight athletes have been named to the short list (in alphabetical order): Jamie Barge (Malibu, California) Margie Engle (Wellington, Florida) Lillie Keenan (New York City) Laura Kraut (Wellington, Florida) Beezie Madden (Cazenovia, New York) Devin Ryan (Long Valley, New Jersey) Adrienne Sternlicht (Greenwich, Connecticut) McLain Ward (Brewster, New York)
