From September 26 to 29, the WBFSH Studbook Jumping GCT will be held in Valkenswaard, where 20 studbooks will compete against each other in the WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Trophy.
The AES teams will consist of horses selected by the AES team from the studbook's country of origin, the United Kingdom, and from Europe, where AES horses were registered under the studbook's 826 code prior to the Brexit. The initial stages will consist of informal viewings and visits to stud farms and showgrounds, from which a shortlist of the most promising candidates will be compiled.
Shortlisted horses will be closely watched in the months leading up to the finals, with final selections being made based on their progression in competitions and training.
AES Chef d'Equipe is Robbert Ehrens.
Robbert has a passion for breeding and together with his father Rob Ehrens he runs a training and sport stable in Weert. He himself rode at the highest international level, but his main focus is currently on training talented young show jumpers. He is also a trainer and enjoys helping people get better in the sport. He is also a qualified Level 5 coach with the National Federation.
“To make internationally successful horses, for me everything has to come together, breeding, education and training. That is why I find the new challenge of selecting and managing the AES teams for the WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy so interesting.”
