With tonight's Grand Prix on the schedule, some riders could already prepare themselves in the CSI5* World Cup over 1.45m. Daniel Deusser had the knife between his teeth and won this class in the saddle of Narcos vd Smidshoeve (by Toulon).
In this class, the combinations rode against the clock, with no jump-off or second phase. So the speed had to be right from the start but could not detract from the precision of the jumping. Daniel Deusser, master of his trade, skillfully guided Narcos vd Smidshoeve (by Toulon) through the course allowing the ten-year-old gelding to leave all the wood untouched. The duo stopped time at a very short 60.02. Only Denis Lynch managed to finish within the same second and had 60.28 on the chrono with Cornets Iberio (by Cornet Obolensky), good for second place. Kevin Staut crossed the finishing line in 62.15 and was third with Beau de Laubry Z (by Bisquet Balou C vd Mispelaere).
At barely five hundredths Simon Delestre had to miss out on the podium and finished in fourth place with I Amelusina R (by Dexter R). Yannick Jorand crossed the finish line clear in 62.65 to fill in fifth place on L'Arc en Siel Z (by L'Arc de Triomphe).
