Focus: Why is a positive mindset in riders so important?

Anyone who proudly answers the question 'What sport do you do' to other people has already heard the answer 'Riding a horse is not a sport, the horse does all the work' more than once. And okay, honesty dictates that it is indeed more tiring to chase a ball for 90 minutes but that does not mean that horse riding is not a sport, of course. "In fact, it is one of the most mental sports there is," says a mental coach. "A rider who doesn't feel good is not likely to perform well either. But why is that? We zoom in on the required mental toughness of a (top) rider.
