The Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup in Aachen was one for the history books. The second round reshuffled the cards, and suddenly Ireland crowned itself the winner! Belgium also impressed with a remarkable comeback, ultimately leading to fourth place!
For Ireland, Bertram Allen and Pacino Amiro (Pacino) set a double clear. Also Shane Sweetnam aboard, James Kann Cruz (Kannan) jumped a double clear! For the Irish showjumping squad, also Denis Lynch and Vistogrand (Fantaland) took the start. Lynch and his 11-year-old AES-stallion finished with a total of four points. Further Cian O'Connor and Fancy de Kergane (Berdenn de Kergane) took the start!
Maybe surprising, team Mexico impressed jumping to the runner-up position. For Mexico, Andres Azcarraga and Contendros 2 (Contendro I) set a double clear. Also compatriot Eugenio Garza Perez jumped two faultless rounds. After earlier today, winning in Aachen, Perez placed on Silver aboard Contago (Cornet Obolensky).
Mexico finished second with four points, while Great-Britain completed the Nations Cup stage. For Great-Britain it were Olympic champion, Ben Maher aboard, Dallas Vegas Batilly (Cap Kennedy) and Scott Brash with Hello Jefferson (Cooper van de Heffinck) who set a double clear.
