The Longines EEF Series is back for a new season, supporting European nations to develop their national teams across a summer-long Nations Cup competition. Starting in Mannheim on the 8th of May, the Series will follow the same structure as in 2021. Two regional qualifiers will take place for each regional group, with the top five teams progressing to the semi-finals. From there we will welcome the best 10 teams for the grand final which returns to Warsaw on the 11th of September.
Created by the European Equestrian Federation (EEF), the Longines EEF Series gives developing horses and riders the chance to gain technical expertise in high-level competition, building the strength of the national teams and bridging the gap to the Division 1 Series. The Series proactively encourages nations to include their younger talents, with each squad required to field a U25 rider, to ensure the progression of riders through the ranks.
The final in Warsaw will carry extra incentive as the winners of the league will gain promotion to the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Division 1 for the 2023 season.
We are very pleased to continue the Series with the support of title partner Longines, whose longstanding support of show jumping in Europe, and the Nations Cup competition specifically, allows our sport to continue to develop to the highest possible level.
Theo Ploegmakers, EEF President: "I am really excited to announce the next edition of this important series. Following the success of last year, we look forward to welcoming our European nations for another season of thrilling competition. This year has the addition of the World Championships in August, and we know the Longines EEF Series will be important preparation and team selection tool, adding even more anticipation to the Series.”
