Also in Villamoura, Portugal, the curtain fell on the last competition day of the week. The final class was also the main event. The CSI3* riders fought it out in a course over a height of 1.50m with jump-off. A nice number of fifteen combinations made it to the jump-off.
In the end it was Mel Thijssen who sang the Dutch national anthem. Her Cartolana 2 jumped a lightning fast jump-off in 40.63 seconds, which was just enough for the win. Victor Bettendorf and Astuce de La Roque were close behind, but with a time of 40.71 seconds they had to settle for silver. The bronze was for Jack Whitaker with Valmy de La Lande and a time of 42.99 seconds.
The rest of the top five was French with Jerome Hurel and Byron du Telman on four and Kevin Staut with Bond Jamesbond de Hay on five.
