Peder Fredericscon: "Anything can happen this week"

"Anything can happen this week, which is why this format is so interesting", said the 2021 Longines Global Champions Tour winner Peder Fredericson at the press conference. Tomorrow all the top world riders will start competing at the Longines Global Champions Tour and Global Champions League Playoffs in the beautiful city of Prague in the Czech Republic.

This is the third edition of this event and it will kick off a fabulous weekend full of sport with the quarter finals of the GCL Super Cup. The Super Grand Prix, which will see all the winners of the circuit this season compete, will kick off on Saturday evening.

The starting list is full of big names. One them is Ben Maher with Explosion W, who won the 2019 LGCT Super Grand Prix and more importantly the Tokyo Olympics in August. Catch Me Not S and Peder Fredericson who has twice won an LGCT Grand Prix this season will also be present. You can also expect to see Henrik von Eckermann and King Edward. And last but not least Scott Brash will enter the arena with Hello Jefferson.

Speaking today at the press conference prior to the event, Jan Tops, President and Founder of the Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL said: "Throughout 2021 we have had to make some adjustments up until a few months before the events, but we have been fortunate to have excellent event partners who have been flexible with us and that is one of the reasons we have been able to pull it off this year", explained the Dutchman.

Olympic team champion Peder Fredericson said: "I really enjoy being here, it's a fantastic show we're all looking forward to. We are here with the best horses in the world against the best riders in the world and for some great prize money. So we're really looking forward to it."
