Finishing in second was Great Britain’s Jessica Mendoza aboard Dublin, with the USA’s Kristen Vanderveen rounding out the podium aboard Bull Run’s Prince of Peace.

The 1.45m course challenged horse-and-rider combinations, and ultimately eleven pairs were able to navigate the track fault-free. Mendoza (GBR) and Play were the first pair to produce a clear round, while Lambre quickly followed with his fault-free ride to guarantee an exciting jump-off. Seven of the eleven pairs presented double-clear efforts, making it a race to the finish line. Mendoza set the pace in 37.81 seconds, but was quickly topped by Lambre, who cleared the 8-effort short course in a blazing time of 34.10 seconds. While Mendoza, Vanderveen and the USA’s Nicholas Dello Joio were all less than one second behind him in their efforts, Lambre’s time maintained through the remainder of the jump-off competition to hold victorious.
