Tonight the headliner of the day took place in La Coruna, Spain. In this CSI5* 1.60m Longines Grand Prix Simon Delestre took home the win. With six combinations qualified for the jump-off, everyone was on the edge of their seat in this thrilling slot of the night as no one seemed to be able to stay clear in this jump-off. Untill, the French legend Simon Delestre stepped into the ring as the last combination and deliverd the only clear round.
With Cayman Jolly Jumper (by Hickstead) Simon Delestre delivered the only clear round of all the jump-off contestants. He crossed the finish line in 41,28 seconds. Eoin McMahon could count on Chakra (by Casall) to take home the second place with a time of 35,48 seconds but one unlucky rail down. Marc Houtzager and his mare Sterrehof's Dante N.O.P. (by Canturano) ticked of the clock at 35,70 seconds but also saw one rail fall to the ground which led them to a third place.
Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (Jorden van de Kruishoeve) took fourth place. Julien Anquetin (Blood Diamond du Pont) managed to ride the fastest round of all the contestants in the jump-off but unfortunately had two rails down, which stranded them on a fifth place.
