Stallions from Riesenbeck thrill the audience

When he can show his horses in the stallion show, Ludger Beerbaum is just as much in his element as when he is in the saddle himself. During the presentation "Stallions in Training" at the CSI** Riesenbeck International, host Ludger Beerbaum gave insight and information about nine stallions of his station in front of several hundred spectators with wit and a lot of expertise.

In an entertaining way, Beerbaum explained the pedigrees, character traits and respective performance levels of the sires and, together with his riders, demonstrated what the daily work of the four- to ten-year-old sport horses looks like at the Beerbaum Stables. With a lot of praise - "it's really fun to watch here, great! - and almost set up like a lesson situation, the new rider Philipp Hartmann presented the young stallions Aberdeen Z (Aganix du Seigneur x Canturo) and Cortez FZ (Cornet Obolensky x Canturano I) with a lot of feeling. Zinedine, now 18 years old (Guidam x Heartbreaker), was shown in hand. The chestnut stallion - "one of my most beautiful sport stallions to ride" - can point to many great offspring. One of them, Zineday, is currently competing with Philipp Weishaupt at the 5* show in Wellington.

The five-year-old "Charming boy" Forlee (For Pleasure x Comme il faut), born to the highly successful breeder Ottmar Eckermann, whose daughter Katrin Eckermann is one of the best Amazons in the saddle, is one of the station's stallions that have covered the most mares of the 2021 season. The youngest in the group of stallions, three-year-old Emeron (Emerald van t'Ruyterhof x Ahorn), did not yet show any jumps in the show. He impresses with correctness, pedigree and inner attitude.

A whole series of young highly talented foals of the stallions shown gave the breeders on site a visual impression of the beautiful offspring the sport horses produce. Older sport stallions under the saddle of the show riders Christian Kukuk, Holger Wenz and Noora Forstén formed the conclusion. The already successful and highly successful in the sport Comme le père (Comme il faut x Contender); Coros - he is the 2021 World Champion of six-year-old show jumpers (Cornet Obolensky x Arpeggio). Philipp Weishaupt was live from the U.S. to describe his success story with the star in the stable. Chubakko (Connor x Colmann) then let the audience experience during a training session how the horses are prepared for the big, international sport. Finally, Mumbai, member of the Olympic squad and Vice European Champion with the 2021 team (Diamant de Semilly x Nabab de Rêve) showed himself in dressage work - to start afterwards under his rider Christian Kukuk in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck in real competition sport. After this program item, those present could immediately turn their focus to the big sport. Of the 37 riders who qualified for the final of the Grand Tour, 14 again qualified for the final jump-off with a clear round.

Ludger Beerbaum likes to present his horses - but he prefers riding even more. If it is then also successful, then even much rather! With Cool Feeling, he was the last rider in the jump-off to really step on the gas. He remained clear (0/40.40) and took third place. Felix Haßmann and his Cayenne once again wore the winning pants and won (0/39.75) ahead of the Irish rider Jeremy Sweetnam (0/39.96), who had Brown Star under saddle.

Mumbai, previously presented to the public as a stallion at the Beerbaum station and highly praised by his rider Christian Kukuk, finished fourth. The gray stallion still has international competitions on his schedule in the coming months. However, Christian Kukuk's goal for 2022 is clear: "I would like to go to the World Championships in Herning with Mumbai."
