The second day of the Children Preliminary Competition at the FEI European Dressage Championships in Le Mans offered a thrilling showcase of talent, precision, and composure from the continent’s most promising young riders.
At the very top of the leaderboard, Bo Leijt with Gentle van Wittenstein delivered an exceptional test, scoring 82.959%, setting the benchmark for the day. The chestnut KWPN mare of 2011 showed lightness and fluency, reflecting her maturity and Bo’s calm, precise riding. The pair impressed particularly in their extended trot and consistent contact, making their performance nearly untouchable.
Following closely, Lynn Sophie Soddemann with Fürst Schwarzenberg MT claimed second place with 81.322%. The 2015 Hanoverian stallion by Fürstenball OLD demonstrated expressive gaits and elasticity. A slight loss of balance in one of the transitions prevented them from challenging for the lead, yet their overall elegance captivated the judges and audience alike.
Third place went to Laura Kohoutek on Shakeela FRH, scoring 81.238%. This young Hanoverian mare by Secret impressed with powerful hind leg activity and smooth canter work. Laura’s sensitive riding allowed the mare to shine, particularly in the lateral movements.
