Kevin Staut takes over Milton, the highly promising grey of Cyril Cools, Jérôme Guery and Marcus Ehning

Milton will continue his career with Kevin Staut. This thirteen-year-old grey stallion, registered with the Z studbook, is the result of the cross between the crack Mylord Carthago and the competitive Shakira Z (Z, Sandro Boy x Cruyff).

Trained by Dutchman Pim Mulder and ridden by Mexican José Alfredo Hernández Ortega and Belgian Jérôme Guéry, with whom he showed promise in the Longines Nations Cup of Rotterdam and the Longines Grand Prix of La Baule and Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard in 2021, Milton returned to competition at the beginning of 2023 with Cyril Cools after a year and a half break and a stint in the stables of legendary German Marcus Ehning. Last season, he experienced another four-month hiatus before having a very successful autumn with the Belgian, finishing second in the CSI 4*-W Grand Prix of Tetouan and El Jadida and securing a faultless double round in the Nations Cup of the CSIO 4*-W of Rabat.

Former successes

Since then, he has been among the most prominent horses in the pre-Olympic transfer market, but Martina Romagnoli, his owner through the Irish company Heritage of Tomorrow, has always refused to sell him. On January 15, the deadline for the pre-Olympic transfer market, Milton became French, with 1% of the shares officially transferred to Kevin Staut, while 99% remained in the hands of the Italian. It is thus with the Olympic champion of 2016, double vice-world champion of 2010 and 2014, and individual European champion of 2009, that the grey stallion will continue his career.

Alongside Beau de Laubry, registered on the À Cheval list for Paris, Visconti du Telman, destined for the Longines World Cup final this year, Scuderia 1918 Viking d'la Rousserie, who resumed competition ten days ago in Kronenberg after nine months of recovery, and Dialou Blue, his partner at the European Championships in Milan, whose return is announced soon, Milton is clearly an additional potential Olympic partner for the former world number one, determined to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
