Opium JW van de Moerhoeve TN (by Kannan) is sold to the American rider Lillie Keenan. With Dutch rider Willem Greve the stallion competed up to 1.45m level. Lillie Keenan told Equnews she's had her eye on this horse for some time already. "From the moment I got on him I felt a connection with this horse and the confidence we gave each other", says Lillie Keenan.
Opium JW van de Moerhoeve TN is a Belgian show jumping talent that has had many successes. In the Belgian Stallion Competition and the cycles for young horses Opium already shone on Belgian soil. With Willem Greve this eight year old stallion jumped to a top ten placing in the CSI2* 1.40m class in Lier. Also in Opglabbeek Opium was placed in the top ten several times this year.
"I noticed Opium already as a 6 yrs old so I kept an eye on him throughout last year in the 7 yr old classes", revealed the American rider. "It took some patience but I was quite lucky it all worked out in the end so we could work together. He has been produced beautifully by Willem Greve. From the moment I got on him I felt a connection with this horse and the confidence we gave each other. I hope that 'Opi' and I will make all of his connections very proud in the future. He has everything you wish for in a top sport horse. He is also available with semen at Team Nijhof."
