"Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has agreed that Japan will continue to cover costs as agreed in the existing 2020 agreement. And the IOC remains responsible for its share of costs," said the Committee. "It is already clear to the IOC that the extra costs amount to hundreds of millions of dollars."
