Last Friday the races on the California race track (Santa Anita) finally started again and that turned out to be very good news for the gambling offices. They saw sales increase by no less than 184% compared to a 'normal' Friday before the Corona crisis.
Nine races were scheduled and a total of $ 11,207,076 was entered. Only the opening day of the season had known a bigger amount. The horse races were resumed without an audience and only the necessary personnel was present. All jockeys also had to be tested for the Corona virus. Their temperature is measured daily and they have to answer a few questions before being allowed on the race track.
