From May 5 to 8, 2022, the 61st edition of the Jumping International de La Baule will kick off at the François André Stadium. A few months before the world championships in Herning (DAN, from August 6 to 14), the Nations Cup, sponsored by the City of La Baule in 2022, will be one of the highlights of the competition and also an opportunity to gain a psychological advantage over the competition.
It is a tradition in La Baule. The team leaders of the nations competing in this mythical event proudly brandish their country's flag in a parade that sets the stadium's stands on fire. Behind them, four couples made up of the greatest riders associated with some of the best performing mounts on the show jumping planet. Couples ready to fight for their country and their teammates. Finally, in the always crowded stands, several thousand spectators pay tribute to the tenors of a competition without equivalent in France. This is what the Nations Cup of La Baule is all about.
Eight teams of four riders/horses will be at the start of the Nations' Cup - City of La Baule on Friday, May 6:
- GERMANY
- BELGIUM
- BRAZIL
- CANADA
- FRANCE
- ITALY
- SWEDEN
- SWITZERLAND
Qualifying for the 2022 World Championships and the 2023 European Championships (Milan, ITA), the Nations Cup - Ville de La Baule will be held in two rounds on the same course (1.60m) within a time limit. In each round, only the scores of the three best couples out of the four in the team will be taken into account. The winning nation will be the one that concludes the event with the least number of penalty points, or none at all.
