Antarès is without a doubt one of the most popular saddle brands in the world. Big names, such as Richard Spooner, in the show jumping and dressage world ride with one of their magnificent saddles. The French quality brand is not only known for the comfort it offers for the rider, also for the freedom it gives to the horse's back. The used leather for Antares saddles is soft and grippy.
Question is what kind of improvement the brand could make after a long time experience it already has. Although some technical improvements have been made to ensure a better comfort for the horse and rider we are not focussing on it.
This time Antarès does astonish us all with the design and use of materials. A new design that is without an eye-catcher. In the past saddle brands used to hide their logo on the saddle, it had to have a 'clean' look. This time however the beautiful image of Antarès is used as a design to flourish the saddle.
When first seeing the saddle I thought the logo was decorated with little Swarovski stones, well let's face it, Swarovski is out. The results being I immediately lost my attention to it. Until I had a closer look… and yes, the new extravagance is born. While Swarovski equals the past, the use of fish skin in a saddle is the future. It is subtle, catches the eye and let us be honest, it is just insane. That is why we love it!
Antares designed a saddle according to all the contemporary needs for rider and horse. Meanwhile the brand incorporated a new design that might set the standard for what will become a research to new saddle -materials and designs.
