Jan Tops launches a new multimillion-euro project... "Everything to celebrate the horse and its elegance!"

Today in Doha, the announcement was made of Jan Tops' new multimillion-euro project: The Global Champions Arabian Tour. The new tour will focus on competitions for Arabian horses. "With this tour, we want to demonstrate that equestrian sport and the beauty of the horse are interdisciplinary," Tops explains. For now, the Global Champions Arabian Tour and the Longines Global Champions Tour will run separately and will not be organized at the same time.

In the beautiful setting of the 'old port' in Doha, Jan Tops launched the new concept today. With events in Dubai, Doha, as well as Paris, Rome, and Valkenswaard, the competition tour for Arabian horses will offer a total prize pool of 17 million euros. "Respect for beauty, with integrity," that is the motto. "Horse enthusiasts in the Middle East clearly appreciate the concept of the Longines Global Champions Tour, and we want to extend that professional approach to the Arabian sports world."

It is unique in the industry for a competition tour to span different locations and be accompanied by a point system.

"Arabian horses are part of the heritage in the Middle East," Tops responds to the question of why he wants to approach this industry. "I am convinced that, just as the Middle East has become convinced of show jumping, we as Europeans will become convinced of Arabian horse sport. If you enjoy dressage, then you will surely enjoy Arabian horses."

The Dutch (equestrian) entrepreneur emphasizes the central role of the horse. "The horse is central. Of course, there are different geographical focal points, but the affinity will be identical everywhere."

The new tour will start in Doha in February 2024. Additionally, the tour will be present in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Muscat (OM), Cannes (FRA), Valkenswaard (NED), Rome (ITA), and Paris (FRA).
