The first 1m45 high course separated the wheat from the chaff on Friday evening in El Jadida as only 8 of the 33 starters managed to complete the course ridden by Uliano Vezzani. For this class on time, Gaudiano saddled 11-year-old Nikolaj de Music  (Breeder: Walter Lelie), the BWP stallion by Kannan with whom he has been a duo for more than five years. Halfway through the class, the pair set a sharp time that could not be bettered. Jessica Burke on Express Trend (Future Trend) was good for second place. Following at three was Abdullah Alsharbatly, also taking his place on the podium for a second time after previously finishing third with Fiumicino of the Kale Valley. For this Grand Prix qualifier, he was on the back of the KWPN stallion Ermindo W (Singapore, F. A.P. De Wit).

The French Ines Joly also had a Dutch breeding product under the saddle. She finished fourth with the Comme il Faut son Imposant van de Renger. Rounding out the top five was Eva Gautschi and Beam Me Up Scotty Vom Weihergut (Kannan).

Thierry Goffinet and Emanuele Gaudiano back to back in CSI4*-W 1m40

Just over half of the 40 starters managed to reach the second stage of the 1m40 high course. Like the day before, Thierry Goffinet counted on the 8-year-old Quick Diamant HR, with whom he only missed out on victory by a few hundredths of a second against a strong Italian on the opening day. The tide turned for the our compatriot, who today only needed one hundredth of a second to send the Diamant de Semilly daughter from the stables of Ruben Houben to victory. Gaudiano followed on two this time with the KWPN-bred Jaja (Zirocco Blue). At three we saw Fiumicino van de Kalevallei (Plot Blue) under the saddle of Abdullah Alsharbatly. The gelding bred by Gert De Sloover previously competed under Jur Vrieling.
