In the second individual competition for Children, run over two rounds, the battle remained exciting until the end. Five combinations managed to clear both rounds. In the end, it was Germany who went home with gold in the team standings thanks to strong individual performances.
Preliminary winners in the individual standings include Kaja Kropec with Grc Acapella, Eleonora Ljungman with Jamaica Ebh (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve), Lieselot Kooremans with Nini from HD, Noah Philips-De Vuyst with Fouego de la Closiere (Nabab de Rêve), and Lena Daudinet Paquet with Caravelle de Laume (Messire ardent). All achieved a total of 0 penalties over the two rounds - a particularly competitive performance.
Inaya Paelinck put down a strong first round with Bam's Girl Z, but received four penalties in the second round and finished on a total of four. This put her in shared twelfth place - a fine performance in a field of over 70 combinations.
Mauro Stas also rode himself into the results. With Ti Amo di Magico de Res Nova Z he recorded a clear first round, followed by four penalties in round two. Like Paelinck, he finished on four penalties and shares 12th place.
These performances finalize the team standings that had its conclusion today. Gold went to Germany, the Netherlands got to take the silver medal, and the bronze medal was for Switzerland. Belgium finished just outside the top three in fourth place.
