Gudrun Patteet took victory in the 1.50m main event of the CSI4* World Cup competition in Poznan.
Nine of them came to the start of the jump-off of this Longines Ranking class. Gudrun Patteet was one of the last to start in the saddle of Sea Coast Guinness. With the KWPN stallion by Nabab de Reve, the Belgian rider recorded a time of 36.79s and was thus good for a win. With 37.16s on the clock, Mans Thijssen finished second, after being relegated to second place with the KWPN stallion Hello (Ambler Gambler). Jeroen Appelen helped fill out the podium, taking third place with 8-year-old Gently Z, a Zangersheide gelding by Gentleman. Their time was recorded at 37.53s.
Gudrun looks back on Guinness' first indoor competition of the season with satisfaction. “In the jump-off there was a possibility to make a short inside turn to an oxer, but I didn't think that turn was ideal for this horse. Therefore, I chose to ride at a fluent pace around the outside, and that turned out to be a good decision,” she says.
The Belgian rider is full of praise for Guinness' performance. “He did a fantastic job here for two days.” Gudrun deliberately chose the competition in Poznan as preparation for Mechelen. “Poznan offers the ideal conditions for this thanks to the great atmosphere, full stands and courses of a high level,” she concludes.
Wesley de Boer helped keep the Dutch honor high, narrowly missing out on a place in the jump-off with Kaphira, a 9-year-old KWPN mare by Corland. The duo did finish eleventh, despite a jumping fault.
