Jesus Garmendia Echevarria and Callias with home win in CSI5*-W 1,50m World Cup Qualifier at Madrid

With only the exciting Six Bar class left on the schedule, where 12 combinations will compete against each other at unprecedented heights, Jesus Garmendia Echevarria concluded his fridaynight in the best way possible, winning the CSI5*-W 1,50m World Cup Qualifier in front of a home crowd.

The five-star course designed by Javier Trenor, at a height of 1.50m, provided nineteen clear rounds out of fifty-one starters. Gregory Wathelet was able to capture the silver with his newest acquisition, Double Jeu d'Honvault. The 11-year-old son of Kannan spent almost three years under the saddle of European Champion, Steve Guerdat. Only Jesus Garmendia Echevarria was faster. In front of his own audience he piloted the Companero son, Callias to victory. The top three was finished by Marlon Modolo Zanotelli and Zy-Zento (Zento).

The top five were hot on each other's heels as Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli also managed to finish within the same second as her predecessors with Deesse de Coquerie (Consul Dl Vie Z), which earned her fourth place. The same was true for Hans-Dieter Dreher, who finished fifth in the zaedl of Vestmalle des Cotis (Baloubet du Rouet).
