Ten rider and horse combinations made it into the jump-off of the 1m55 high section. Only Lars Bak Andersen (DEN) dipped under 40 seconds and became the winner in this four-star Grand Prix aboard Golden Eye (Goldfever Z). Erika Lickhammer - Van Helmond (SWE) came in second with the nine years old Koberlina TN (Eldorado vd Zeshoek). Mel Thijssen (NED) had the 11-year-old Imodo under the saddle and stayed clear with the son of Quasimodo Z. The smallest difference of 22 hundredths of a second kept them in third place.

Alberto Zorzi (ITA) steered the Dutch bred stallion, Highlight W to four, also staying within 41 seconds to finish. The top five was concluded by Bronislav Chudyba (SVK) with Statis Conti (Stakkato).

Earlier, it was Angelos Touloupis (GRE) who secured himself the victory of the CSIO4* 1m40 class. With the only eight years old Kannandillo (Kannan) he was almost two seconds faster then Abdurakhmon Abdullaev (UZB), who had Otto van de Achterhoek (Dieu Merci van T&L) under his saddle. Zorzi warmed up for the Grand Prix, already becoming third in this class with Stakalite (Stakkatol).
