Simon Delestre and Olga van de Kruishoeve make the CSI5* 1m45 LR theirs in London

After already becoming just second in the first CSI5* class of the LGCT of London, Simon Delestre took matters into his own hands and won the CSI5* 1m45 Longines Ranking class aboard Olga van de Kruishoeve.

Richard Vogel (GER) had set the bar high on Churchill 48 (Cassito) at the beginning of the class by sending the 12-year-old stallion across the finish line in 60.12s with no faults. Armed with the 10-year-old BWP mare Olga van de Kruishoeve, a daughter of El Torreo de Muze bred by Eric Polfliet, Simon Delestre (FRA), who finished second earlier in the day, entered the 1m45 high course. The duo came in about half way through the competition and improved the time to beat to 59.77s. No one did any better, Vogel finished a strong second. Fellow countrywoman Sophie Hinners (GER) sent Ghia Pe (Gem of India) around in 61.62s and concluded on three.

In fourth place was Great Britain's home hero John Whitaker aboard of Sharid (Toulon). Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) previously managed third place in London and added a fifth place in the saddle of the Eldorado vd Zeshoek mare Elwikke.
