Wilm Vermeir got his first win on the opening day of London! With the 9-year-old Top Invest 313 Z, the 2022 Mechelen World Cup winner was the best in 'The Ivy Stakes'.

The 1.50m-high course, run over two phases, posed no problem for Vermeir and the 9-year-old son of Thunder van de Zuuthoeve. The Zangersheide stallion is also an in-house breeding product of the rider and his wife, Karolien Bongaerts.

Vermeir got an early start but set a very sharp time, which proved unimprovable. Philipp Schulze Topphoff had only four hundredths of a second more with Corny M (Connor) and came second. The by Boudewijn Schepers bred Origi van't Geyzeven, like Vermeir's Top Invest a son of Thunder vd Zuuthoeve, earned Mariano Martinez Bastida the bronze.

Even more Belgian jumping power in fourth place, thanks to the BWP stallion Nash v/h Lilleveld (Tonixe, F. Stefaan Van Biesen) under the saddle of Kim Emmen. The top five was finished by Mario Stevens and the 10-year-old Carrie 22 (Christian).
