Matthias Alexander Rath, master of the first day in CDI3* in Jerez

Today the CDI3* in Jerez commenced at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art with the Young Horses, Intermediate A and the Prix St-Georg tests. In the Intermediate A, British competitor Richard Davison was the victor, riding the Hanoverian DON BETTINO (Don Primero x Weinmalerei) and achieving a score of 70.22%, while second position was taken by the rider from the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, Carmen Belén Bautista on Spanish horse FENOL II. In third place was Matthias Alexander Rath riding the DanishWarmblood ES FANGAR'S SAMBA KING (Sandro King x Prisca), a pairing that achieved an average of 66.028%. Matthias Alexander Rath came to Jerez with five horses, and in the Prix St-Georges he won with the Hanoverian FOUNDATION 2 (Fidertanz x Donna Doria) and an average of 69.553%. Second place was achieved by Carmen Gutierrez Cruz riding GORKINTGARDS LAIKA (SunnyBoy x Lancanta x Leandro), having attained a score of 66.053%, while third place was for Dutch rider Janneke van Riet with DELYO (Sting Wendy x OO Seven x) and a total of 66.026%. The competition started today with the GIL FAMILY ESTATES test for five-year-old Young Horses. First position was won again by Matthias Alexander Rath with the Oldenburg FLASH HIT (Fürst Romancier x Levantina ) and a spectacular total of 86.600%. Rath also took second place, this time riding FRANGIPANI 9, another son of Fürst Romancier, and scoring an average of 77%. Spanish rider Juan Manuel Cortázar with the Spanish sport horse WELL WELL (Preferred XXXIV x Wendy) finished in third place. JARACAR – AUDI Preliminary FEI test for six-year old horses German Sönke Rothenberger earned a spectacular score of 82.800% with the KWPN GANYMEDES 10 (Gribaldi x Vodette), which awarded them the top spot. Second was Spanish competitor Juan de Dios Ramírez with the Hanoverian QUATERBACK I (Quaterback x Scarlet), as the judges gave them a score of 75.400%. Maria Caetano finished in third place with FENIX DON TINEO (Rubi x Aolga) (75.200%). In the seven-year-old class, Matthias Alexander Rath took the win once again, this time riding SIR PICARDI (Sir Donnerhall x Dramatique) with a score of 77%. Second position was achieved by ESTOQUE ridden by Alfonso Expósito (66.400%) and third place was for MORTAL (Bucanero XXXVII x Traviesa XII) ridden by Juan Manuel Cortázar with a score of 60.900%.
