After 13 years as a rider at Beerbaum Stables, Olympic champion Christian Kukuk has decided to realize his dream of becoming self-employed. He will leave the stable in Riesenbeck at the end of the year.
“Everything I have learned in terms of sport, I learned from Ludger Beerbaum. He has played the biggest part in my riding and my successes,“ says Christian Kukuk, ”and I am eternally grateful to Ludger for that. I am aware that it will be difficult to make my way without his protective hand and unique experience. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life.”
Christian Kukuk began his international career as a rider for Ludger Beerbaum’s stable in 2012 at the CSI2* in Balve. This was followed by countless successes and victories with young horses at national championships and international Grand Prix with horses such as Limoncello, Mumbai, Just be Gentle, and Chageorge. As a team rider, he has been a key pillar of the Riesenbeck International team for years and a guarantee for the most clear rounds in the Global Champions League. At international championships, he won the silver medal with the team at the 2021 European Championships in Riesenbeck on Mumbai and finished fourth in the individual classification. A few weeks ago, he won the bronze medal with the German team at the European Championships in A Coruña on Just be Gentle.
Last year, Christian Kukuk crowned his career to date with Olympic victory in Paris on Checker. Ludger Beerbaum: “As a young athlete, Christian has developed into a figurehead of our stable/team over the past decade. The fact that, in addition to our working relationship, we also have a particularly good, trusting personal relationship will allow us to continue working together in the coming years.”
