The FEI has confirmed its selection of officials for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The list includes the delegates who will play key roles across the different equestrian disciplines during the Games.
Bodo has already worked at the highest Olympic level. At the Paris Games, he served as assistant course designer alongside Spain’s Santiago Varela Ullastres. In the lead-up to that event, he highlighted the unique nature of the Olympic Games, which he believes carry a distinctive sporting prestige and profile for both athletes and officials.
In 2028, Bodo will return to the Olympic stage, this time taking on the responsibility of Technical Delegate. The courses in Los Angeles will be designed by Irish course designer Alan Wade.
Alongside Bodo’s appointment, the FEI also announced three other key roles. American Andrew Temkin has been named Technical Delegate for eventing. Temkin competed in eventing until 2005 and is well known for his work as Technical Delegate at Badminton. For the cross-country course, Alex Lochore remains confirmed as course designer.
For veterinary oversight at the Los Angeles Games, Britain’s Mark J A Sinnott has been selected as Foreign Veterinary Delegate. Sinnott has been an FEI Level 4 veterinarian since 2001 and has previously been involved in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. He also held the same position at the 2021 European Dressage Championships. In addition, he has been associated for more than twenty years as team veterinarian for British jumping squads in the youth categories.
Finally, Portugal’s Carlos Lopes will take on the role of Dressage Delegate. Lopes is an FEI Level 4 judge for dressage and para-dressage and has also worked in France since late 2016 as a consultant and coach within the French para-dressage team.
