Irish international Bertram Allen has handed over the reins of his top Grand Prix gelding Qonquest de Rigo. The 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood (Fantomas de Muze x VDL Indoctro) will now continue his career under the ownership of Germany’s Hofgut Kaltenherberge, controlled by Dr. h. c. Thomas Straumann.
From Belgian Prospect to International Grand Prix Level Bred by Ulrik Goossens and born on May 17, 2016, the gelding was initially produced in Belgium—competing under riders such as Tom Verduyn (Stal Verduyn)—before transitioning to Irish international showjumper Bertram Allen (Ballywalter Stables / Aloga Stables) in late 2024.
Under the banner of Ballywalter and Aloga Stables, Qonquest de Rigo established himself as a dominant force at the 5* level, racking up top-ten placings in major Grand Prix classes and delivering clear rounds for the Irish team in Nations Cup competitions.
A New Chapter in Germany After two successful years performing under the Irish flag with the Allen family, the son of Fantomas de Muze now embarks on a new chapter with his German ownership registration at Hofgut Kaltenherberge. It has not yet been announced who will take over the reins from Bertram Allen in the international arena.
