German eventing and show jumping rider Michael Jung has announced the sports retirement of his trusted FischerChipmunk (Contendro I x Heraldik). "It is a carefully considered decision, made while he still feels great and is in good health!" he stated.
The 18-year-old gelding boasts an impressive track record of successes with Jung in the saddle. The pair rode to the Olympic gold medal in Paris in 2024 and twice won the demanding international eventing competition in Kentucky. Furthermore, a team gold medal from the European Championship in Blenheim shines on his resume. The absolute highlight, however, remains the individual gold medal at the World Championship in Aachen!

"It goes without saying that 'Chip' will stay at my stable and will enjoy our attention and dedication for the rest of his life. I am immensely grateful to him for everything. Our respect for this top horse certainly doesn't end with his retirement from sports," Jung continued.
